On the occasion of Easter 2026, we are pleased to share the official wishes addressed to our community by the Executive Director of the Guardians of Polish & Christian Heritage.
This message offers a meaningful reflection on the Christian significance of the Resurrection, while also highlighting the richness of Polish traditions and cultural heritage.
On the occasion of Easter 2026, on behalf of the Board of our Organisation, we would like to extend our warmest wishes for a joyful and hopeful time of renewal.
Polish Easter traditions represent a fascinating and unique blend of two great currents in our history. The triumph of the Risen Christ over death, which is the foundation of the Christian faith, has harmoniously intertwined with the ancient rhythms of nature that our ancestors once celebrated during the festival of Jare Gody. The transition from darkness to light, and the victory of life over winter’s dormancy, gained a deeper and more profound meaning in our lands.
When we share blessed eggs on Easter morning, we are continuing the ancient Slavic tradition of decorating eggs, which symbolised new beginnings, vitality, and renewed life. The well-known Polish custom of Śmigus-Dyngus, or “Wet Monday”, reflects old spring rituals of cleansing with water, which later became associated with the Christian symbolism of baptism. Even Easter palms or the blessing of fire on Holy Saturday remind us of the powerful awakening of life in nature after winter. Christianity did not erase these beautiful customs – instead, it gave them a deeper spiritual meaning, creating a heritage we proudly preserve today.
At this special time, when the miracle of renewal takes place both in our faith and in the world around us, we wish you peace, good health, and a strong and positive spirit. May this Easter be a time of joyful gatherings, reflection on our roots, and renewed strength for the months ahead and the challenges of everyday life.
Wishing you a joyful Easter and a beautiful spring renewal!

Easter in Polish tradition has, for centuries, been not only a religious celebration but also a deeply rooted element of cultural identity. The blending of Christianity with ancient Slavic customs has created a unique heritage that remains alive to this day.
These wishes remind us that preserving this heritage is not only the responsibility of institutions, but of each and every one of us.
